I picked up a chick with my GN
You just need to get the right gear and lower your voice, works wonders.

Also, tinted visors make people think your 'deep and mysterious', Honest.

The GN isnt designed to go that fast though, it's still a GREAT bike though and i still miss mine every now and then.

    Ride safe now!
120km and the bike could have gone a wee bit faster if the snoozer in the car in front didn't keep slowing down. Now the chain has been fixed the OWNER recons Ermintrude is a new bike!!

Hmm could make for a bit of fun. GN250 speed trials.
Wonder what the mechanical limitations of the gearing would be?

Actual top speed I'd say is < 110 clicks as you can go past a cop with a radar whilst being `flat on the tank' so to speak (on the way to last years cold kiwi). Its a weird feeling. Even weirder is that only 2 bikes passed me on the way, one of which I got back on the access road in.
As gutless as the engine is, I really wouldnt want any more power with that chassis...

    I really like my GN!

It's a great bike to learn on I've had mine for 12 months and have done 6000 kms on it. Just got my full license today so the GN did a good job.
Have had it up to 125 kph twice on the flat with a little tail wind, and regularly to about 118 kph. I have even over taken other bikers.... I bet they felt real sick when they realised what had just passed them! Time to buy a bigger bike now though..........

Come to think of it, i mis my GN..had her up to 127ish kph (on the straights) on the way to Rotorua, however averaging about 90 all the way.. It was a bit hard heading up hills but on the way down, choice!!

Drove my GN 4 months almost everyday.. Had her to Rotorua and back twice and i regularly basis, travelled to Hams.... Anyway
I loved the GN for its "keep on keeping on attitude" however, i dont miss the raw power it had lol.

Wow thats SLOW!. I used to ride an old Honda 150cc GL it did 130KM top speed on flat land with no wind. And I thought it was just that slow because of the small engine.... now your telling me 250cc motorbikes are even slower?

It weighs f**k all. But 17hp and aerodynamics of a tissue box equals a slow top speed. 135km? That's the highest claim I have heard for an fxr150, good effort 135km is near the end of 4th on my slower than a paraplegic running spada...
