The weekend done and dusted, and work in the morning. But finally gone through the pictures and trimmed them back some.
All in all a fab weekend. Had a great night on Friday night, Saturday was awesome, and a light Sat night. Got a text in the early eveing, Mrs Bullet had a severe migraine, and was taken to hospital to get sorted. So hence restricted the liquid intake somewhat, as was hoping to head back Chch early, though batt on Gris' decided to play low, and would not spin the mighty Italian. (time for a new one me thinks)

I was the last entrant to leave the site (LONG STORY) and the 30 minute ride home to Alex was nice ... a bit on the cool side ... but nice.

Wow I am so glad those good for nothing weather forecasters got the weather wrong what a fanatsic weekend, I have ridden to worse in the summer........Hailstorm, torrential raing to Waikia. In fact I have thought about all the rallies this year and most of them seem to have had inclemment weather. Waimoomoo was the windiest ever.......

Anyway back to the Chilly Monkey. Saw loads of packed up bikes heading towards Cromwell on Friday and suddenly thought why the f..k havent I took Friday off and gone and partied on................now realise what a stupid mistake that was.,........oh well.......

Saw Donna and Anton and couple of other dudes at Kellyis on Friday arvo in the sunny weather and cud have man

Saturday morning I was met with a sulky Tex whose battery decided to spit the dummy and couldnt go anyway, so Chris QT Biker met me jump started the bike and off me and Bri set off and rode to Cromwell to encounter the thickest coldest erriest darkest fog ever.....boy the temperature dropped as did the riding pose blimey I was nearly horizontal on Tex......

Cromwell shone, and we nearly shot past the Gate, but there seemed to be hoards of bikes outside that pub so we spun round and chewed the kud with a few of them, but didnt recognise too many faces, the Brass seems to bring out totally different folk eh......as welll as us Hardened KBer's......

Got to Alex and sawy mymates from Welly there, and a dude from Riversdale and then there were 4 of us riding off to Otehura...........what a laugh riding in a group, I have spent so long riding on my own, that I literally smile all the way there in a crowd..............

Set up camp in Ote, right in front of the Stunt Riders who were fantastic to watch,,,,,,,cud never imagine doing that, but wow would love to learn.......Lovingly put text to bed with a blaket a cover and a cuddle.....and yeah party commenced then really

Ran briefly into Winston, and then Jeff My irish buddy got the mulled wine out and the wandering commenced and it all got rather messy.......nestled down with a really groovy bunch from the west coast, drak bourbon......yuk.....one of the group said he was a gynacolagist, yeah right, a builder...of course, dipperr

Kinda abandoned them when we all went to the fire, then bullshit conversation ensued, boogying boogied, and the rain started........not many firewalkers this year strangley.....................The band were fab, I think!!!

Went to bed in an absolute comma and woke up to the pitter patter of snow following the violent shaking of my tent..................grr chaning my tent I think.....briefly looked outside and went straight back to sleep,, luckily Bri and Jeff my two travelling buddies are as lazy as me, and we all slept in till bout 10ish......how the hell you can sleep through bikes is beyond me, but it seems to happen easily when in a drunken stupor.

The ride home, was hazy, but thanks to Watties Bike Brekky came right quick enough, and saw a convoy of bikes in front of me which always makes me smile and sigh.........................Biking is so much a part of me now its untrue.

The craggyness and wildness of Central leaves me speechless and my head spins like an owl looking at all the drmatic scenery rushing past. God I lvoe the diverness of the scenery here, unbeeeeeeeeeeeeelievable.........thought I would get used to ithaving been here for 5 years but nuh.

Anyway, that was it really..........got home, was going to have a granny nap until my mate had a puncture so had to go and rescue him and trundled off to see "State of Play" at the cinema, got back at 3am, so all in all a rather pissy fun weekend......

Great to see the sun shine and to all those softcocks who were scared off by the potential weather......you missed out on a goody

Same, had a spinel tap one time... bastard doing it missed and hit some nerves was freaky as hell watching my legs swinging all over the place and me not in control.

Do you use a battery maintainer?

Yup sure do, it was stitting at 11.6volts when tried to start, but then on Sat I did leave me hot grips on for a few hours by mistake, so that itself may have taken the edge off. But it started fine straight after turning them off, just the cold me thinks.

Had a ball, caught up with a few old mates, and enjoyed the ride up tremendously, and the Triumph performed flawlessly. Couple of pics attached also...

Looked for you lot along the deer fence, where the KB flag normally hangs.
We did see the drum fire up on the far hill but figured those guys must be a dodgy lot & wanted to be left alone, especially as I was supposed to be minding the two best looking girls at the Rally.

We raised over $1,350 for St Johns at the Brass (bloody fantastic) plus there are other donations we accepted along the way that is yet to be counted.

If you have already donated then a big thanks - I think the Maniototo St Johns are still in shock!! It was ironic that their member who accepted the money had attanded to a fallen (Brass) biker just the day before.

Didn't see Pooey but did unload all the non-folding cash I had into the St Johns bucket.

bag of coal kept the fire going nicely all nght. Sidecars are handy things for carrying stuff.

the wossie hot grips will do it... however a good battery should be at 13V and the amps, the importent bit should be reading 0.00

Well its been a horror trip so far. Bike started no problem at rally site. Until we were ready to leave, tried to start again but battery bit low so called in the battery ute. They are pretty helpfull but still couldn't get it to start, was at trying to at first though. Good samaritans Kiwicowboy and Fjrider helped out with getting bike onto trailer and off to Kiwcowboys shed, cos he had tools. Dismantled bike to get plugs out wet and fouled up so cleaned and tried , no go. Stayed the night with Kiwi and his lady, with plugs on top of fireplace. No go, so off to Alex for new plugs. She started first attempt. Left 3pm on the monday to Cromwell. Faark it gets cold there. Tues off to Wanaka beaut weather, just sightseeing etc. Wed off to Haast 30km from Wanaka couldn't find a gear pull over and had lost all the drive chain components on the rear wheel . Found the two largest parts but unable to find the Jesus nut and one spacer. Back to Wanaka get recovery and storage . Now bitch on the back, overnighting at Haast heading up Westcoast. Faark its cold on the back without hotgrips. Now sailing sat. Still having great time tho. After all its only money. We are attempting to spend out way out of this recession.

Crikey Doc, sorry to hear of your travails. That which does not break us, makes us stronger. You'll laugh about it in time to come and Goblin did say you were planning another trip south.
