I saw Triple Z selling BMC ones a while back in the For sale section. They're better than the K&N for racing too.
I'd think most shops should be able to get them though.

I came across this on the net recently.
As washable STEEL MESH oil filter - that is claimed to have better flow AND finer filtering than paper
It sounds (and looks) pretty good and is environmentally friendly
