When you think about it;
The urge to challenge any and all boundaries of fear and pain is one thing, but stunts like jackass and that video, is the antithesis of that notion. And although it can initially prompt a grim bit of laughter, it leaves a sad, lingering sense of desperation and futility.
Appealing in the long term to only those who recognize the dimwitted heroisms as a reflection of our own lack of self-esteem and pathetic pointless existence, a complete enmity of our own physical bodies and lack of ability.

Those who have no cause in life, no anchor or reason to be; are drawn in by this repulsion just as a drug addict is seduced by the immediate gratification at the cost of long term degradation. Preying on an undeveloped cognitive neuro response that restricts ones facilitation to disengage from disgust, allowing you to entertain the idea of rebellion from your seemingly meaningless life, diffusing that feeling without having to act upon it. Slowly destroying human potential, serving to strengthen your suspicion that life is pointless
