Voting at the MNZ AGM

Hey folks I don't know if you are aware of this but you are allowed to make Proxy votes for the MNZ AGM if you arent able to make it.
This means that you can nominate someone who will legitimately be there to vote for you.
This is a way to let your voice be heard where it counts AT THE MEETING.
To do so you need to provide the name and address of the person you nominate to vote for you.
You only have till MAY 14TH to get your votes in

Does your Club have the ability to check with your members, whether they have received voting papers.

If so, could please do so as soon as possible.

Frosty, I don't have the papers in front of me but if you check the sheet with the proxy info on it I think that proxies can only be used to accept/decline - last years minutes/financial report/other operational paperwork.

I believe this was in response to some of the motorcross clubs turning up with 50+ proxy votes and steam-rolling thier agendas through the AGM, not saying that this was necessarily a bad thing though, if we could have 50 votes for steam-rolling through day liceneces at closed road events I would be all for it!

You are correct, from the mnz constitution;

7.3 Proxies
7.3.1 Except for the election of Officers a Full member is entitled to appoint a proxy to represent and vote on their behalf
at General Meetings.
The appointment must be:
7.3.1.1 In writing giving the appointed person’s full name and address;
7.3.1.2 Signed by the appointing member, or in the case of a member under aged 15, by their legal guardian,
with their membership number stated;
7.3.1.3 Dated;
7.3.1.4 On the original proxy voting form provided by MNZ for the purpose, except with the prior written
approval of MNZ;
7.3.1.5 Given to a Full member (not being an Affiliated Club) who is entitled to vote in their own right.
7.3.2 The proxy must be for the purpose of the matters listed in the proxy form, and any other matter reasonably
incidental thereto, and no other unrelated matters.
7.3.3 All proxies must be forwarded to the Voting Auditor and postmarked no later than 10 calendar days before the
commencement of the General Meeting to which they relate.
7.3.4 There shall be no proxies:
7.3.4.1 For the election of Officers, which may only be done by postal or, once approved, electronic voting; or
7.3.4.2 At GB meetings

these votes are for voting on the amendments to the rules etc only and not for voting for who you want to govern sport,all voting for candidates has to be done by the 14th of May.

the office is trying to take away the right of members to go to sports tribunal citing problems with our insurers,going to mediation will only cost 250 now check out Holeshot or sports tribunal website

Given our sports ability to play favourites if we give up our right to go to the tribunal ,fair hearings will be questionable, make sure you have the true facts

All other matters that require a vote at the AGM can ONLY be voted on by members present - proxy votes don't count. So if there is a vote regarding taking disputes to the sports tribunal at the AGM then proxy votes will not count.

You are correct the amendments are not listed.

so Proxy Votes won't count
