The media is like the rumour mill right now, reporting heresay as fact.

One report came out that they have managed to rescue the dog out of the van - stoked at that bit of news. Earlier reports sounded ominous.

Bloody sad day in NZ when this has to happen. Thoughts go out to the family and friends on the injured police.

Frankly, scum like Jan Molenaar should not be allowed to come out of that house breathing. Paranoia or not.

This has not come from the media... didn't you know I was sleeping with the ................... and its a fact... I don't lie (all joking aside)... this is the truth... the media knew nothing, for possibly two reasons, they had not been or have not been informed, and/or they are milking it... which is even sadder.

Shorthly before 7:30 pm last night while the police commander was being interviewed on TV, some armed police were leaving the area and an ambulance was allowed into the so called danger zone. When the commander was asked if the offender was dead he claimed that he didn't know, but his body language screamed liar. He did know, and could have answered with a "No Comment", but instead chose to lie outright.

Have we all got such short memories about a discussion only a few months ago where it was made clear that ambulalnce staff would not be permitted inside the police cordon until the police were sure that all offenders had been dealt with. Here we have an abulance not just entering the cordoned area but going right into the danger zone. That showed that the offender was either dead or captured by 7:30 pm last night.

The police will be wanting to go though the house with a fine tooth comb because of the reports the guy has explosive experiance. Better to do that in daylight hours btw.

They wouldn't just bowl on in.
