This is one piece of gear could have flushed him out. It can go through walls, doors or even floors, up stairs and theres no barracade that will stop it. Add camera and some flash bangs and this thing would be a nightmare to face.It could get up to him and flashbang and tear gas him stupid or near dead, and follow him around the house. Only requires a little more armour to be completely bulletproof.

In my limited experience in life I've often found that the drug of choice does not really matter to these people. It the fact that its naughty and being a roughty toughty outlaw is where the real buzz is!

Nah his dumb mates are probably in with him,they wouldn't let the cops know anything,now they feel embarassed maybe due to the fact they maybe thought he won't do it,he's all talk.

Free democratic societies give citizens the right to express their veiws and opportunity to effect change (such as legalising cannibis if you have a mind to). The other side of this is that for these societies to function, these same folks need to abide by the decision of the majority if it goes against them. Sometimes the law seems unfair, but we do live in a society where a small group of people CAN change society if they do it right.

Gawd knows how this will all end up but I think there were a few heroes out there that day and certainly some villians.

I'm not so sure of that. There are so many stories of all sorts as regards this nutter's motivation/s. Any one of which could be true, or contain elements of the truth, or be complete bullshit fabricated by someone else with an ax to grind. The only one who really knew (and even then, did he?) won't telling, will he?

The latest story would have us believe that he got very upset with anyone who mentioned his father. Ergo - he must have suffered some sort of abuse at his hands and developed a hatred of authority. Reports would have him taking great delight in 'putting one over the council' on the issue of a building permit.

The only thing I know is that in the mid-90s I was a lawnmowing contractor and did the girlfriend's lawn. I think she was with her previous partner then, and he was an unfriendly sort who seemed to be suspicious of my presence on the property. People are generally attracted to the same personality type when in a relationship.
