Has anyone here read Sun Tzu's book, "The art of war"? An ancient text dealing with conflicts.

    Some good advice from there:

If possible, win without going to war. (Achieve your goals without resorting to armed conflict. This is the most elegant and advanced way of going about things.)

If you do have to go to war, KNOW YOUR ENEMY.

    CHOOSE YOUR BATTLEGROUND.

    CHOOSE THE TIME.

With all respect to those who sadly lost their lives in this sorry mess, particularly the innocent civilian and the police officer, then I suggest that the next time the police goes up against somebody they follow the basic principles outlined in that ancient text. Know your enemy. Choose the time and place for battle. If at all possible, avoid armed conflict.

All the best, and thanks to the NZ police for serving and protecting us.

Rambo 2,3,4 are nothing like first blood. First Blood had a story to tell and didn't need countless explosions and deaths

The rest are just shoot 'em ups

If you read the book, its basically an anti-Vietnam war book, and Rambo is depicted as a very troubled soul indeed, as is the pleece chief. Also the ending removes any possibility of a sequel.

Its called "First Blood" by David Morrell. Its really good, much much better than the film.

(one of my favourite scenes in Black Hawk Down. I think its the beautific smile Bana has while killing the gun crew, and his little skater helmet thing)

And you wouldn't need $48.8 million in yearly running costs for 'em either.
