While it clearly sucks that the rozzers are being shot at/killed by the scumbags, there is something that will be ignored by media, politicians and ... well ... everybody.

This policeman was in the process of doing a cannabis bust. He did not die protecting our sorry arses from the nasty nasty people, he died because our conservative society has not yet grown up about drugs. He died for politics, and he died for the kind of politics that wears a sensible sweater and drives a mondeo.

Is that not the most immeasurably pathetic thing you've ever heard?

These people aren't your garden variety weed smokers, smoking and dealing it is only the surface of the problem.

Hes an ex soldier. Night may be on his side...

    Unarmed, experienced, older, calmer sorts....

But would a lack of elictrickery really incommode the killer? After all there was a time when many houses had none (I was born in one, for a start). It is hardly an essential of existence, and I doubt the killer intends to watch much television.
Being an ex soldier, he probably found it was like that out in the field too...

The TV news stated that the Police didn't believe this call warrented anything more thas two unarmed officers. It turns out that the guy they were vising was an ex-soldier with a collection of weapons. Surely they should have had access to such critical information prior to the visit.

Someone didn't do their homework with tragic consequenses.

Even if the guy is tweaking outta his skull, exhaustion will beat him.
Old father time will take his toll. Maybe a land shark might get an extra feed tonight, here's hoping.

So jan molenaar was just a petty stoner but he thought it necessary to protect his stash with multiple firearms, exploisives, and that shooting a number of people who were just doing their job was OK?

Can't agree - just another needless death caused by some arsehole who can't leave it alone. I'm no saint, I probably did all sorts a crazy shit when I was young, pot was the half of it but shoot a cop, shoot anyone???

He died because someone pulled a trigger trying to protect their 'stash'... Isn't that the most pathetic thing? I guess society will 'grow up' about drugs when it grows up about violence?

Exactly. They are criminals. Proper, armed criminals willing to shoot at the police. Why do we give them this billion dollar a year business? All they have to do, to make shitloads of money, is grow some plants. Would it not be better to make their lives, y'know, difficult?

Legalise the fucking stuff. There'll be hydroponics gear in Mitre 10 by the end of the day. They'll be screwed.

I see his mum has apologised. Poor old dear, imagine that - apologising to the nation for the actions of the child you raised. I hate the way things like this bring down so many lives at once.

I felt sorry for her to be put on the spot by the media with a kick arse big camera in her face.....but it is not up to her to apologise! She didnt pull the trigger. Her son is an adult. He makes his own decisions.
