    Best 'Techno Fear' Story

Anyone have a good one of these to share.....

I called round to a mates place a couple of days ago and he was effin and blinding at the telly. He was on the phone to SKY bitching and moaning that his remote would not change channel and he wanted to watch some fecking nudey programme on Playboy TV.

Anyway, it was late and he was seriously drunk.... so much so that I had to gently tell him that he was trying to change channel with his fecking mobile phone, the SKY remote was on the couch.....prat....

So, you guys got any good ones?

My Dad came in with a gem today, ol' fellah.
"HEY MAN! I used that google today, it's FANTASTIC! You can see your mums old car in the driveway!"
'Yeah, the devil company is pretty good! *trying to play a goddamn game*'
    "Hey whoa, is that HD?"

    Yes Dad, 1920x1200 is HD.
Every day he comes in asking that!
Mostly when he's been drinking, but EVERY DAY!
Some people just can't seem to comprehend that they do not have the right to be unoffended in their lives.

My old mans place got ripped off while he was in China.

He got a new LCD screen with built in Freeview. I dont live with him and popped in there one day to see him pouring over the manuals wondering why "it wont go".

Long story short he didnt know what freeview was and didnt realise he needed a sattelite

My father was getting wild because the tv wouldn't change channels one night. Next thing the neighbour rang to ask why his garage door was going up and down - he'd been using the door remote...

    Does this count?

MANY years ago, an old soak (but good Guy) ln his 70's was sitting, pissed, at the local RSA bar when he looks up at the Xpelaire on the wall and says "Fuck is THAT the time, - I'm off" - and staggers outside to his Skoda!

TV's with Digital tuners (Freeview) use terrestrial UHF not satellite

They simulcast, don't they? I remember we were looking into getting Freeview and it was going to be slightly cheaper to use the existing (but unused) satellite dish on the roof because the satellite Freeview receivers were half the price of the terrestrial receivers.

Turns out the Freeview UHF isn't as widely available as you'd want, either.

My mum came down to visit & cleverly brought her mobile to let us know when they arrived. But she kept it turned off, so the battery didn't wear-out.
Still does that all the time.
