    CB200 starting issue

hi, im new to the forums here. My problem is that the starter motor is engaging and then after one or two compression strokes the starter is disengaging and spinning freely. sorry if this has been answered before but i couldnt find a similar problem when i searched it.

Maybe the charge in the battery is not enough to keep the starter engaged. Try jump starting off a cage, and see if it makes any difference...
Either that or the starter is shagged... a 73 CB200... not new anymore...

i tried jumping it off a very charged car battery and it did the same thing. I will try pulling it apart to see if there is anything obviously wrong. otherwise i will have to try and find a kick starter.

It's the starter clutch a common problem on Hondas once they get a bit old.
Sorry - don't have any more info than that, as my CB175 was brutally killed well before its starter was worn out.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....
