one quick google search came up with this.
    http://www.scootersanddirt.co.nz/CPI_GTR.html
not a 50cc, and I didn't see any other CPI's on the site.
I have never dealt with this company or heard of them before, just showing a helpful Google search find.

good luck, the CPI scooters look awesome, wish the wife would have let me get one :P (looks too much like a motorbike to her, she'll come around once I get my bike license :P)

yeah if your set on something bike shaped then there's a good chance you'll want something bigger later on, so learner bike license sounds like a good plan.

not sure what the schools charge up in auckland, but the ones down here are not cheap.Auckland has alot of mentors from this site that may be interested in teaching you the ropes.

Im not sure if scooters and dirt still exist or not. There used to be a CPI importer in (i think) Wellington... not sure who it is exactly though.

The bikes seem to be quite good.. dunno why you would get anything other than the GTR 180 though... that bike is awesome

is the place in wellington that used to sell them.
they still make reference to them on their site but seem to have none in stock. flick em an e-mail and see if they dropped them.

there are a couple on trade me.

they realy are an awesome looking scooter, I'd love to give one a test ride if you can find a dealer.

thanks for the help guys, yeah tried contacting some of those trademe scooterbikes but was either sold or not very helpful in answering my questions.

so i just sat and got my BHS cert, going to sit my learners and going to get a bike now! i was going to be content with commuting with a scooter but didnt like the step thru style, and since its difficult tracking down a cpi gtr50 i'm just skipping the 50cc thing altogether now. i guess it was a blessing in disguise.. i hope. but i'm exited even tho my wallet is getting lighter from riding gear.
now its time to look for a 150 or 250
