Hi all,
Been away fishing in the Tongariro National Park for a week.
Track-day!
I am happy to put my 600CC, '95 Yami) up as a loaner for a track-day, but only at Pukekohe.
The next A.R.T. day is 30 August.
I emailed AMCC to see if the fee was per bike or per rider. The fee is per rider. But look on the bright side, the fee includes a free lunch and access to the hospital/morgue, transport unit, for free!
There are 'usually' four rounds per group. My guess is that most of you will want to at least start in G4 and have your own, personal Line Marshall to show you the ropes...all included in the track-day fee. Good, eh?
There are some of you who might feel inclined to have a crack at G3. I'm okay with that but I'd want to know a bit about you riding history. Not, as you may think, from any worry about the bike, simply out of concern for those other riders in the G3.
Let me clarify the diff between the two.
In G4 you can pootle around at your own speed, be that what it may, and be reasonably assured that the other riders will treat you with the respect they expect from you....especially as regards passing and being passed.
G3 tends to attract a few red-misted knob-jockey wannabes, some of whom take delight in scaring the shit out of newbies, but if you feel up to it, then feel free to sign in for that group.
There are four places per group: G4/G3....But if G3 is not fully subscribed, and one or two of the more confident want to begin in G4 then move up, then that'd be great.
Any of you able to hack it in G's 1 or 2 can bring you own bikes. :--))
Liability.
You will have no liability as regards damage to the bike. If you happen to be the last rider on the day, and push so hard that your own life is on the line, and you discover you imagination transcends your ability, and you bin really badly, well, the meat-wagon will be there to pick up your bits and deliver them to your selected address, in a nice clean bag.
Prior to that, however, your fellow team-members would appreciate it if you could see your way clear to arriving back in the pits in one piece, so that they may carry on.
So there it is. Free bike. Track-day will cost about $100.
I will transport bike to track.
Arrival at track would be 0830. Rider briefing at 0915. Action starts soon thereafter.
I can supply leathers for those 5-10 to 6-2. Race gloves for all. Boots for size 10. Back protector for all, and of course, the bike.
First in, best dressed.
Book now by PMing me.
Cheers
dpex.
