    East Cape Easter Excursion 25th Mar.

    Weather's sus, but supposed to be better in the east so are heading off mid afternoon.

    Tentative plans for mrs & me to see Eastcape over Easter

    Thursday night - Accomodation courtesy KB Scroter

    Friday night - Hicks Bay
    Sat night - Tolaga Bay
    Sun night - Accomodation courtesy KB Scroter

    Looking at Backpackers Fri & Sat.
    Something to do with not going to carry sleeping bags & pillion.
    Leasurely pace.
    Anyone interested post on here or by cell

    Did the Cape a few weeks back. Opotiki - Napier in one day. Big ride. Enjoy your leisurely trip, it is beautiful esp. the Opotiki side. Be very aware of your bike's fuel range & gas up when you can. Gas pumps are few & far between & you pay maybe as much as $1.50 per litre.
    Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

    Urr where is Gull...I could find Subway at ??? 9.30.. unless I sleep in!!

    Keep a look out for 2 x ZX6's on the road as me & the wife will be in the area over Easter, Tauranga on the Sat nite, Sunday somewhere over East Cape/ Gisborne way depending on the weather.

    Thanks for the offer Scroter, will call mid week when the weather boffins can give me some idea on rain,hail or shine stuff.

    Anyone care to post a point of interest that is worth a look when travelling the cape route ??

    points of interest

    fish and chips at tekaha pub are good if you time it right and they will do them
    theres a church in the middle of bloody no where before waihau bay, you cant miss it.
    hicks bays got an awesome lodge with onsite restaraunt in bar (yeah i know and no gas station)
    the wharf at tolaga bay is of interest
    theres some look outs just up the jill from hicks bay which give good veiws.

    oh and some of the best roads youll ever see
