Thing being...if that fuckup had'nt have happened...the gap would've been down to around 25 points now...if they lose the title by that many points...

I don't think running out of fuel at that level of racing is good enough. Moto GP where the fuel loads are restricted to 21 litres maybe...but the superbikes carry more than that and should make it through an 18 lap race. It was a total balls up. Didn't see anyone else running out.

that is the offical line that 'ran out of fuel', but honstly they could be telling fibs for all we know, could be hundreds of other reasons.

Perhaps a piston came through the block and knocked the injectors off..........

Crashing is part and parcel of racing...I'm sure you know that. Running out of fuel aint!

Well aren't mechanical/bike problems too? Sometimes they aren't as obvious as running out of fuel but as someone else said, its a team sport. Everyone makes mistakes including the rider and their pit crew. Its the team that makes the least mistakes that is usually the one that comes out on top.

The post race interview sounded like Spies didn't have a problem with the team. The Eurosport2 commentators were saying a number of people were having trouble making a full tank last the distance.

In the post race interview Spies mentioned he rode the warmup laps differently to save some gas as well as short shifting towards the end of the race.

So yeah not anyone's mistake except Yamaha for not making a bigger tank

Real shit about Haga. He was looking quick for the first lap of the second race and might have found the setup to be up there with Spies in the second race.

I hope someone's seriously asking whether that chicane needs to be altered for WSBK to return next year.

Even in race 2 there were a lot of near misses.
