'Good things come to those who wait'
Bollocks, get of your arse and go get it
looks like an egg on wheels, but like padwan said - a blank canvas. I certianly wouldn't feel bad about enduro-ising that thing!

Not sure if this has been mentioned before - prob has - but I am reading the RR of the 5 ATs & BMW combat cow thru the Himalayas on Adv rider.
If there ever is a need for a sales advertisement that thread certainly is one.

man, they don't come cheap at all (somewhere around the $50 mark each). Anyways, fitted a new one and man, the bikes mid range really improved. Also taken the piss poor excuse for a snorkel out of the airbox as well. SHe's a bit exposed to water ingress though so I've ripped the paper off my old filter and will make up a foam wrap to replace it - MX style foam and oil filter - washable and cheap. Will do some photos at some point.

paper air filter in a bike that is intended to go off road? What were they thinking?
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

soggy weetbix is probably what someone was thinking...I think it changed in the RD07 models though to be up above the cylinders rather than down behind them.

In our dusty conditions I would stick with paper or cotton/oil ie K&N style filters, the foam filters generally let more of the dust through and need constant cleaning, this maybe fine for a dirtbike that is going to be rebuilt regularly but on a Africa Twin your better to have the better filtration of a paper filter and replacing it every couple of services.
When I had my RD04 I found it didn't get too bad and as long as you knocked some of the dust out at the service they were fine, if I was running foam I would expect I would be pulling it out to clean and oil all the time.
In the words of Juan-Manuel Fangio "Brakes they only slow you down"
Well finally got round to reassembling the @ ,pulled all these rooted bits out of the suspension
and put these nice $331.87 bits back in
Feel like going for a ride now even tho the weather is shite
Where'd you source the parts? New or 2nd hand? I take it they went straight into the old levers
I had to scource these through Morleys (good work Shane) as I couldnt get the bits for the 650 from any of the web supliers . I have a copy of the micro fisch which lists the part numbers for every nut and bolt on the whole bike along with exploded drawings .
The 750 is a bit more common and easier to scource parts for tho.
