How effective is CatCrap?

I find the same - used Cat Crap once and it was useless. I have heard that the makers of Rain-X have a product (Fog-X ??) that works well on visors although I would test a small peripheral portion of the visor first to see that it does not harm the plastic.

I bought a bottle of Rain-X Anti-Fog last week, works pretty well i reckon.

Iv'e used Cat Crap before and wasn't that impressed, better than nothing though.

Cat crap's better than nothing but the pinlock system beats it hands down. Good vision is overrated anyways...

I too have a Shoei xr 1000,and i ended up getting a "fog off" mask.Not only did that cure all my fogging prob's,but it also keeps ya neck warm,and protected from flying objects.

I've got a Shoei helmet as well. After talking to lots of people I've decided to invest in a pinlock. Went and bought one today.
Now I just have to wait a couple of days, and I'll be doing an early morning ride to give it a good test.

I've heard that pinlocks are the shizz,but i've also heard that they have a small border around them,and i was concerned that might narrow my vision a tad.

It's not really a border as such, just the silicone seal that seals against the visor, it's clear silicone but very slightly noticeable. You only notice it (a little) when you first put it on, after that it's like it's not even there.
Some people use tinted ones on clear visors which I would imagine causes a bit more of a distraction, I just use a clear one on each of my different visors so no worries.

I found the edge of the pinlock was in my pereferal vision and was a bother/distraction to me...
