if you got a wireless laptop 10 bucks will get you onto telecom hotspot and there is the cafenet system as well.Welington library is free too i think

Have laptop, but current tag is outside the wireless hotspot footprint map
T3G is still under lock and key at my old place, yet to be recovered

geez - wil you guys stop wittering on. Whats wrong with good old fashioned digi camera, take pic, race to nearest mates place you know of with PC, upload, pic to PC, resize, save, log onto to KB, check tag not yet taken, find tag on PC, upload to KB, write pithy message gloating of glory of finding tag, log off.

Sigh - no wonder i sadly lacking in tags.

Mind you these are the same methods the elder statesman employs and look at his stunnning result.

Hey hey, the dark horse, remeber he works for Gen-I in an IT role...methinks hes not being completely honest in reagrds to his full mobile technology suite

He has for example:

An 1980's wind up alarm clock
He leaves before the first sparrow farts
He finishes while we all remain cahined to our galley benches

WE cannot compete against such massive technological advances as the Might Bald Eagle from the land of Pram has at his beck and call

this is the method i use. but i just go home instead of riding to nearest mates place...

> go out
> get tag
> race home
> on way home look for new spot to place tag
> download both tag pics off camera on to PC
> hope like hell i wasn't beaten by a geek with a laptop and wireless card or iPone...

as i normally taggin in Kapiti its a bloody long way back from there to Martinborough

Welcome to the old fashioned taggers club.

Maybe we should do that for a month - no uploading from phones, would make for an interesting game

I think I can still manage two tags a day with farting sparrows and a favourable wind on the morning flight path so yep I'm game.
(But maybe wait till I get a bit closer to the REAL elder statesmen )

hmmm that sounds like an idea... how about just for the month of January everyone hase to tag the old fashioned way... none of this phone uploading or laptops with wireless card tagging on the go...

i know i get a rush out of not knowing if i'll make it back in time to claim the tag... quite a few times its been a won or missed just by seconds type thing...

yeah the diving on Sunday was good... pity there were too many seals at the spot that has all the paua and creys... otherwise i'm sure AJ would have got his quota for both...
