The 'Never under estimate the power of can't be arsed' syndrome kicked in tonight after Cloggy said he WASN't going to post tonight. The wine won.
Batteries recharged, blood replaced with alcohol (there was getting far too much blood in my alcohol levels).
TOMORROW....![]()
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker
We came, We listened, And in one voice we answered
BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!!
Well, i think the tag is safe to go get, im off for a bit of a late night scream through the quiet suburbs. If you hear me, feel free to join in lol.
Thought I would check the photo again before I left, I think I know where it is, otherwise its gona be a long night/morning.
Okay, the tag report (and clues for others).
Left home at about 1am, off to the Akatarawa's, guessing that its gotta be one of those bridges down there, so off I go. Extreamly chilly through wainui, I make it over the hill where its slightly warmer (still freezing cold tho). Onto the motorway I go.
I get to the silverstream turn off, absolutely stone cold, so I turn off and casually slumber through upper hutt at a steady 50ks to keep the wind chill down.
Finally reach Birchville, and begin my run down the Akatarawas, each bridge I come across, hoping its the one. Each bridge I pass, I got colder and colder. I pass the point of Sinfulls tag, and kept going, all the way to Waikanae. Nothing, not a bloody thing. Bugger, me thinks. Well, it might be out whitemans valley ways.
So about turn I go, and off down the aka's again. Singing and dancing the whole way back (to keep warm), I reach Rimutex, and pull in for a coffee. Its now just after 3am. Faaarrkk, well its gotta be out maymorn ways, so Ill start there. I finish off my coffee, thaw out the hands, and warm up the gloves in the ZX Midnight Express.
On the road again, I take off towards Te Marua, and make my turn for Maymorn. Through Maymorn I go, still no tag. Mangaroa, nothing, Whitemans Valley, Blue Mountains, still nothing. Where the fricken hell could this tag bloody be. There cant be that many places a bridge like that could be down. I think to myself for a bit, whilst the Midnight Express drums its beat loudly through Pinehaven. Takapu Valley is rather central, we'll head off there.
Off I go again, on a mad hunt to find this bloody tag. I brave the cold, and hit the motorway, thinking, its gotta be there, it has to. Took the wrong turn off, bugger, back on the motorway, ahh haa, theres the turn off. I slumber on down Takapu Valley, and reach a dead end, still without the tag. Faarrk fark farkffffaarrkiiinngggg fark
sshiiit farker farking
crap
. Deep breaths. Deep breaths.
Extreamly confused and absolutely pissed, I head for the motorway again, and start heading home. Hang on, it could be down Moonshine. I take the first exit off the motorway, and head back for a run down past whitby. Still slightly angered, I let everyone know about it as I head round the inlet, the Midnight Express rumbling loudly.
I take my turn for Moonshine, twisting and turning the whole way through. A bridge catches me off guard, and I drop in to where the tire railings aren't. Thunk thud, thunk thud. Oopps, forgot that was there. I emerge from Moonshine hill, without the tag. Fark it, its now 6am, im going home.
For those who don't have a clue where this bridge is, at least you know where it isn't. I'm guessing now that I hold the record of longest amount of time looking for a tag (and not finding it). I ended up spending 4-5 hours riding around looking for the tag, used up about 3/5ths of a tank of gas, and done about 250ks searching for the bloody thing. What a nightmare.
well i thought that it was on the akatarawa road but it aint......street view of those bridges isnt anything like cloggys photo or his street view shot.
oops just saw Wuzards Post....
