Niope! getting a bit closer but stuck now with an "apparently" illegal version of XP (according to Windows Genuine Authentication tool) so I can't use windows updates. I'm stuck with basic XP functionality....

hey KGB have you called the phone number to activate your copy of XP? you may need to call the 0800 number to get a support person to unlock your key. just tell them that you got a Virus or your Hard Drive died... they usualy reset Key's for those excuses...

na do what drogen said.We have done that before,and there is no problem getting a new key.either as drogen said,or even because you cant find the original sleeve or the key has become unreadeable on the machine.

Neither of the two possible locations I am looking at can be replicated in SV

That's a good one Hawkeye.
I am having a little trouble trying to place it too.
The closest view I can reproduce is in Google Earth although it doesn't seem high enough above the motorway.
I will need to go for a ride and see if I can find this spot.
