Parliament Protest to Save ACC on February 16th 2010
Time: 12:00pm to 2:00pm
Place: Parliament, Wellington
Purpose: To put an end to the privatization of our ACC system
Bikers:
Molesworth Street, and the Cenotaph area, parking reserved
Ride direct to Molesworth st, DO NOT go to the Stadium as that is a pedestrian rally point this time round and no vehicular access has been granted to us.
There will be no group ride arranged by this organization, groups riding in convoy are autonomous and must arrange own ride briefs and timetables, information on the process can be sought from Chanceyy on Kiwibiker, who has a wealth of experience in such activity and organized half the BIKEOI convoy activity
Arrive before 12pm please to ensure you get a parking space, there will be reserved parks and they will run out if the numbers we expect are going to happen. I hope it does, we wish to be mildly disruptive this time. MILDLY I say
Intention is to be ON the grounds before 12.30 to ‘welcome’ the Union and other affected groups to ‘Our Place’ on the day, it would be great if you can all follow the prompt to start a ‘who’s next’ chant as the march approaches at approx 12.30pm
Biker rep’s and speeches will be presented in the 12-1230 time slot, ending with a huge welcome cheer for the unions marchers
Non Bikers or support marchers:
Westpac Trust Stadium, Fran Wilde Walkway, south end
Pedestrians and attending supporters, whanau, groups and individuals attending with intention to march
11-11:45 the march forms up, and 12:30 arrives at Parliament via Lambton Quay, and once they arrive the real protest begins
1230-100 is union speeches, 1-130 politicians and academics, 130-200pm is tourism representatives and those from affected industry not represented by the Council of Trade Unions, as well as any wildcards that spring up on the day or closer to the event
This is the opportunity to tell the current government that ACC is not a political football, it is a treasured national institution, a treasure of our nation and we will not tolerate it being carved up for sale to strengthen the profit margins of private insurance companies at the expense of the Kiwi Tax Paying Public
ACC is NOT broke, ACC is NOT broken
Join us at Parliament on the day, and protect our children’s futures from privatization this is the last chance we get to send the message to Nick Smith, John Key and Bill English that yes, you may well lose the next election if your carry out your devious plan
Brent Hutchison,
Biker (by choice)
New Zealander (by fate)
Political Activist (by necessity)
The (dis)honorable Nick Smith, when you speak all I can hear is
BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!!
So please fuck off and die.
Go Go, Ninja Dinosaur!!
Carpark at the end of Kumutoto Lane, next to the cablecar, (off to the protest now will upload new pic after that)
I'm not saying let's go kill all the stupid people...I'm just saying let's remove all the warning labels and let the problem sort itself out.
