well, the point of the game must be working then cos I've done many enjoyable jaunts into town or the hutt to steal the tag away.
Instead of just going for a ride anywhere, it gives me a destination if I feel like one.
So the way I see it, its been a complete success.

Everyone to their own Devo. I don't class SH1/Coast rd as an enjoyable ride. That's why I ride a sports bike and you ride a cruiser. Everyone is different and what is enjoyment for one is not enjoyment for others. The way the game is being played at the moment with it becoming a 'coast' only game at weekends and my complete distaste for SH1, has made the game sufficiently boring for me to drop out of it. I'm not going to argue the point because as you say, everyone gets different things out of it.
I have made the choice to stop playing. That's a choice I have made and no one else made it for me.

And that my friend is why I don't play anymore.
It's not about delivering it onto someones door step so they can pick it up and move it to the next doorstep. If it goes over the hill then it requires someone to ride to go get it. The point of the game was to get out and ride, not who can use SV and maps the best. Or who has the highest tag count.

sorry you feel that way Kenny.However,there is nothing stopping anyone moving the tag wherever they wish .As has been said before the game is what it is.It is a thing of its own.The ditance the tag is carried is a reflection of the interest shown by the players,We all expect a tag to be put up straight away,so everyone responds to that pressure by grabbing a tag close to home or on the way to the tag.The coasties have always played a short game.Whilst the may be more conventional ''enjoyable" rides i find that just about ANY ride has a therapeutic feel for me.And the buzz of finding and getting a tag is still as good as ever.

Rode for an Hour which was all the time I had, Tag after tag was a fail so this is the one I settled on, There will be a lot of riders passing here this morning. Watch for loose stuff at the top of this road folks.

The problem is Paul, you only need to look at where the tag has been for the last 4-5. Otaki, Ruamati Bch ,QE Park, Param , PekaPeka, Waikanea. Everyone of them requires us to have to ride SH1 which I don't enjoy.
I also do not have mobile upload nor do I have someone at home identifying locations whilst I'm on the road. I have to do a 1 hour round trip only to find that the tag I went for is gone by the time I get home and it is yet another 1 hour ride back up the same stretch of road for the next one.
So the weekend game (which is when I actually have the time to play) is effectively written off for me.
When the tag used to be moved around, you always had a chance of getting it. Now due to the number of players in the coast 'team', non coasters have no chance on a weekend

no reason ya can't get this one. snr and scout are in fielding, and be seems unusually quiet.

i'm not sure, but i reckon devo would maybe let u upload from his and then put it where ya like on the ways home.

just an observation, but i reckon the reason it goes up the coast on weekends is those guys have the motivation to kick out at 6am on a saturday to come and pinch it. one weekend i did 3 trips up the coast for a claim, and 3 times they came back for it

just an observation, but i reckon the reason it goes up the coast on weekends is those guys have the motivation to kick out at 6am on a saturday to come and pinch it. one weekend i did 3 trips up the coast for a claim, and 3 times they came back for it

this true too,many times i have grabbed a tag and watched and waited for a welly rider to claim it only to the yellow devil or SS or Scout grab it.

Your right. It is about the ride. I have no issues of going for a tag only to get beaten. But to then have to go up the same road (a road I don't like) 5-6 times in a weekend only to get beaten everytime. That's no longer fun and I would rather go for a ride elsewhere.
And yes, the coasties have the motivation to grab the tag. But they then make it almost impossible for anyone else except another coastie to get it again until Sunday night.
