At this stage the new track configuration is booked for 20th June. We intend to add it to our choices of tracks and Track One remains one of our choices. We hope that this layout will be thoroughly enjoyed by all as much as we have enjoyed putting it together and testing it.
    (It's great to have choices.)
    Thanks Sue

I seem to remember this configuration a way back when Frosty was running them just after they first extended the track and you still entered the site down by the gliding club? so its not new. I would have thought that more corners would suit the better riders as thats where they show the average rider up, and you have still got the back straight to blow the cobwebs out if you wish.

Look at the map again Tony
You're right, the chicane near the gliding club isn't new.... but the chicane on the back straight is.

That looks the ducks nuts! That right/left from the new to old track ( T9/T10-Patches chicane ) is farkin cool, real technical and tricky to get through fast. I'm all keen for the new chicane on the back straight too, nothing is more frustrating than fighting past a slow assed thou round the rest of the track only to have 'em blow past again on that damn straight....should be cool

Hey folks. I personally dont like the proposed changes
not saying Im not riding it just I dont like the changes.
the turn onto the old hairpin isnt a new one--it used to be the only configeration before T9 was put in.Trouble is for me it stuffs up my favorite corner because you turn in 2/3 of the way down T8 -it was also the bit of the track that most guys bitched about
That and to be honest T9 still has me head F$#$$d so I wanna go round it till I figure it out.
It used to be you were turning off of T8 over some chopped up tarmac.
Im happy to stand corrected here too but also wont doing the back straight chicane mean transitioning through the business end of some pretty serious armco? --as in stuff up the T16 entry and you're end on to the armco.
Mind you some of my negative probably comes from sliding on my ass down T1 of the old track (t14)when they took the camber off it

    Mean maori mean! Good call.

I hope to be there on 20 June.

Someone should point out to Mort et al that there is a motorsport dedicated to riding in a straight line, and that regular meetings for it are held at Meremere.

If you look what they've taken out of the track (two of the best faster turns and a fast straight all with their own challenges) and think about whats been added (more tight 1st and 2nd gear corners which the circuit has enough of.) I'd have to ride it (and I will) but I dont like the look of it... The T1 circuit had a good mix of fast and slow/tight sections. T5 is slower/tighter overall. That might be good for small bikes but for bigger bikes I bet you could do new that circuit using one gear less....I just think it will be less satisfying to ride. A circuit needs good fast sections IMO.

Anyway - we'll see. I just hope some choice is given.

the whole point if the main straight for me was to get down there over 200kms with out doing it on the road sort of takes some of the fun out of it still will give it a blast though. means I might have to do the -1 +2 sproket change I was planning for the gixxer.

    Hi Frosty

    Thank you for your PM.
    Re: your concerns.
We have done extensive testing using riders of various levels and gained approval for the new layout from Motorcycling New Zealand through the Taupo Motorsport Park.
