    DESERT ROAD
Snow showers are expected to develop during Thursday afternoon down to 800
metres. 2 to 3cm of snow could accumulate down to that level with lighter
    falls
down to about 500 metres in the evening. Showers should clear overnight
    Thursday.

You should take that to the Cold Kiwi - enter the hill climb event.

Could, but like any new bike it pays to work it out before a major trip. Stripping it down tomorrow and giving it a good once over.

Route as per the calendar. We go through Kihikihi , Mangakino & tokaanu, then through the mountains. Will adjust for weather. Meet at Shell for 0900 DEPARTURE (all ciggies out & coffees drunk) as others are joining us en route.

    One more sleep!!!!!

Just opening the packaging on my Kathmandu thermals (2 for 1 special) and digging out my polyprop socks - I'll go with 2 layers of socks, cause I F'n hate cold feet. Hopefully my sleeping bag is warm enough (it was fine on the Cold Duck rally).

I'll probably feel too warm in the morning, but should be fine while riding and hopefully warm enough at the rally.

The scoot has a new WoF and 2 new tyres, I'll load it up tonight and tomorrow it is off to the rally I go.
