You get two types of response from people when you say you ride a motorcycle.

    a) Jelous and misinformed - "walking roadkill..." or "it's so dangerous blah blah"

    and

    b) 95% of people - "holy fuck that's so cool" ... "my dad used to ride "

As a girl on a bike there's also probably a range of pick up lines you'll also have to learn to deal with haha.

Welcome, welcome and good on ya for buying your first bike.

All I can say re friend and family reaction is maybe by riding safe and be the best rider you can be might just help them to get thier head around what you are doing and you never know you might just change their attitude!

Have fun and love your bike.
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have you found? The same old fears.
    Wish you were here. QWQ
