If you are going to race Nationals then i quess the officals might be a little more pedantic than club meets. IMO if you are just entering in club racing and the numbers are readable I don't think you will have a problem. However on the question of weather they are a bit gay then "Hell Yes" unless you are a chick and even then it may be a tad suspect.

Mate a lovely sunshine yellow background with rose pink numbers be you If anyone asks, you could just throw yr hands on hips and say "why, i'm a privateer dear, I'm entering the nationals so i can learn them noobi woobies"
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

I like to think of it as Black on Gold
Vic Club probably wouldn't stop you racing if your numbers didn't comply - but how hard is it just to follow the rules ?
you can buy the correct size and colour numbers for a few bucks at a bike shop and just stick them on.
