Yep, they're just car drivers on two wheels.
Nope, they are bikers through and through.
Well, they're bikers - but only if they ride a real one too.
Until some car driver bowls said bird off her scooter and those scantily clad legs are scarred for life....
I'm not an ATTGAT fanatic but the lack of safety gear allied with often outright gormless riding on scooters gives me the heebee geebees, especially as so many of those riders are attractive young ladies.
Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? ...He's a mile away and you've got his shoes
I once had the pleasure of riding my C50 into the BP servo in Cambridge for my $2/200kms of fuel, when some (who shall remain unnamed) KB-ers were there. They gave me stick, said I looked like a numpty as I had a leather jacket, jeans and boots on, and that the scooter wasn't really a bike (I had just ridden it from the airport). They were heading off to Tauranga for cappuchinos - probably with cinnamon on top. Imagine how suprised they were when a Hayabusa joined them about 10kms south of Cambridge, the rider wearing very similar jacket and boots, with the addition of leather pants, to that C50 rider they gave stick to in Cambridge....
The biggest wankers were the ones on 250s with their L plate 'broken' off.
On the whole scooter riders are tools.
I do nothing to change this stereotype, unfortunately when I'm riding my mechanic's courtesy 125 scooter though.
That thing is awesome[ly dangerous].
Redline at 95km/h EVERYWHERE, regardless of conditions or traffic. Muahaha.
I wear all the gear on my scooter including the Sidi race boots and armoured gloves. I figure it'll hurt just as much falling off no matter what I was riding. Even though it's been a bit colder lately I'm still commuting every day on the North Western which is more than I can say for a few "real" motorcyclists. I've had a few other bikes as well and have to agree about the ergos though I may just be a bit long for the Yam 125 scooter.
