    The Jane Gifford

The Jane Gifford arrived at the Warkworth wharf this morning and will be moored here for the next six months. Hundreds of people turned out and the festivities will be going on for some time today and into the evening. Tied up also is another local ship 'Maggie' both boats are there for charter. The Jane Gifford (a scow) is an awesome sight.

Looking good. I spent 3-4 years of my teenage early 20's working on her when Waiuku owned her. Had gat myself a real job when the politics screwed her up down here. Really good to see her afloat again, just in time for her 100th birthday too.

Used to see her going up and down the Tamaki River when I was a kid....we thought she was a pirate ship, and Nana used to mutter about bloody Bert Subritzki because she knew them as kid up north.

She looks really impressive after her restoration. Still a bit of stuff to complete but essentially all finished. She will be available for charter once her survey is complete.
