Those clear tank protecto thingies...

I seen here a while ago those clear bike tank protectors that you can buy in kits for your bike. They're surposed to be a stretchy like matarial and come in different shapes for different parts of your bike. Anyone know what I'm talking about and post me a link.

Also availabe made to suit, 3 m or mobile novus windscreen repair people. Bike shops have the contacts. Been fitted to 2 bikes and one car....good idea if you wish to protect.

There is one product out there which shrinks and leaves a dirty line around the edge....(no problems with the 3m product)

I'm busy fitting customskins to my bike. The kits really only protect the frontal areas prone to stone chips, and some parts of your tank against rubbing. I was actually hoping it would cover larger parts of the fairings and tank (ie for a tankbag). If you want to cover more of the bike (like the sides of the fairings), you have to buy extra sheets from them or from an auto supply or bike shop and cut them yourself.

I also reckon customskins *might* protect the paint against a slow drop from standstill, but not if you're moving along. I've had two similar incidents where something like this product would have saved my paintwork from scratches.

+1 very good stuff. Got it on my two previous 1KRR bikes and my current red bike.

Install it to the instructions (some videos flying around as well on youtube), with 2 spray bottles (one alcohol mix - no, not beer! and another baby shampoo mix) and a credit card wrapped with velcro (soft side) cloth and installation becomes a happy time.

Sounds bloody good protection for scratches,but is it against wof interpretation if it is over headlight,that was what I was told by a bike shop giving wof.

Not true.

Super Cheap sell headlight protector film - Altrex brand which is a repackaged 3M product - I''ve never had a problem getting a WOF with this on my bikes.
