Wouldn't a large snake crush the prey & kinda tenderize it, so that it could swallow it? Say like it may do to a sheep or pig.

They crush to kill... as in choke/suffocate. Not to make eating easier. They eat their prey whole. Saves a lot of chewing ...

Oh yes they can and do.They strike and suffocate you pretty quickly, it's just the swallowing part thats a little slow.
