    Ivan's VMMC PRO TWIN RD1

    Well what to say

The Weather was ummm strange it was a real shock on what was going to happen as we got to the circuit I decided the wet but damp track would be fine on the Dry tires So got to into setting up my pit and running the generator and tire warmers.

Riders Brefing was were I started to worry as that bright blue sky to the right and menacing black cloud over the hill that looked liek something out of lord of the rings the blue dissapered and went to a whitey grey and you could really notice a temperature drop.

Still no water drops fall so off I went for Qualifying on the drys.

Got out on track and could not lean it at all there was absolutly no grip what so ever I was so slow it was not funny and really showed in my qualifying position 34th on the grid.

Coming In I decided to change to Wet's

    Race 1:

Went out and gave it a bit of a push on the warm up lap and was really confident in the feeling of the wets and really wanted to test my new CKT built forks line up on the grid and could see I was really gonna have a hard time with this as I was on the very inside of the 9th row and was going to make a really tight turn 1 for myself.
None the less it had to be doen so the lights went up ALOT faster than I was expecting I quickly brought the revs up lights went out fed the clutch out and nearly got thrown off my bike as it started sliding around and turned pretty much the opposite way bikes shooting past me and my feet were dancing more than they ever have

Thankfully I saved it and got into turn 1 and managed to chase a few bikes andmake some sly passes the back straight was great for me my SV rocketed past heaps of bikes along there and before I knew it I was up to 28th spot got into a dice with a White SV for a bit and we both come out of the right hander before the Hairpin almost touching I had a better advantage going into the hair pin and made it past but he got me back about 4 corners later and really put his head down.
Coming into the pit straight at the chicane was scary as heck as the front kept sliding on the white lines and gripping giving me a really banging sensation in the front managed to finish 28th alot further down the field than I was expecting.

    Race 2:

It was dry but the wets were still on

Lights went up and this time I got away cleanly and into turn 1 with ease by about lap 2 I was in about 12th position and starting lap 2 I went round turn 1 carrying alot more corner speed than I had all day and started changing directions and saw I was running off track for turn 2 quickly picked it up and shot across the grass it seemed to go on forever the bumps were huge and I was trying to just stay upright come back on last by quite abit and just really put my head down and worked on keeping things flowing on the circuit before I know it I had caught up to a 400 and managed to make a pass and was tracking down the group in front of me down but the rear wet was shredding and I could feel it letting go but the grip was still really great even tho it was sliding and run out of laps and come in 38th not what I was expecting for the weekend at all

    so thanks

    very much so.
I hate days like that aye haha need spare rims make it so much easier to make a call my brother had his slicks on warmers sitting aside and wets on his bike and last minute call throws the slicks on and away were as me its make the call at least an hour before allowing for tire change and getting tires on and off etc which is frustrating

at least I kept her upright and really got to test the bike out and learnt that if you need ANY suspension work Robert and Dennis from CKT are the guys to go and see the build quality and service/information on hand is brilliant couldnt ask for anything better
