Chappy's Rnd 1 crazy handlebar round

After having a blast at PMCC in the dry, i was really looking forward to running on my dunny slicks. And then as we know she was wet!!

Quals went well - I do enjoy the wet but didnt know how far i could push it on the patch ridden track. I qualled well even thou was being cautious. 2nd in Postie JNR and F3.

1 - F3 great start and just kept the hammer down - poor JNR telford left the door open for me. i ended up behind the 2 pro twin SV's, after passing one - i couldnt quite get the race leader but on the lst lap i out braked myself and opened the door - not only did the Pro twin guy jump me Paul B jumped on the ban wagon - i placed 2nd by a bike length. Well done to paul. i wont leave the door open again!!

1 - Posties also good start - was confident and after the start just stuck to the front running big guys - mosey and a stupidly fast gsx1100. that back straight was too long and could never stay infront of them. raced out in first for JNrs happily.

2 - F3 - happy she was dry - i had decided to run an intermediate rare and was gone leave the wet front on - but quickly changed to a slick.
The rear held up ok for about 3 laps before starting to push - Cookie got me after a lap or 2 and went up front, i was hanging with the front pack as much as the rear would let me. AND THEN I FEEL A SNAP. my left bar went loose........
the bolt had broken and i had 3 laps to go!!

Riding with your right hand only is a bit SH&T!! spec braking and throu the esses!! but i had a look back and saw denos orange roughy so thought SCREW THAT IM FINISHING IN FRONT OF HIM. Cookie first me 2nd - happy to pull in

2- posties started really well, spec now i had 2 handel bars - saw a XR looking thing try to come round the outside of me. that wasn't going to happen!! put the head down as i knew i would get 3 laps before the rear started to slide around. I put in a great first lap 1:47 on the standing ( yes i was trying that hard! ) then when the big 1000's didnt fly by on the straight ijust kept going - was awesome bring home the chequered flag - who needs 140 hp anyway

Really awesome day, certainly happy with my overal standings and happy my little brother is chasing hard in posties ( as long as he stays behind me- ) thanks heaps to Aaron carr and dan for the help on the day. Thanks to the Airforce, Hi Tech Interiors ltd, and DUNLOP tyres for putting up with the weather!!

bring on rnd 2 look out paul B im coming for you!!

    You're most welcome Neil

Brought a huge smile to my face when all the hard work in the garage paid off on the track.
Oh, and you did a 1:45 on lap 2 of the second Postie race too....
The first two laps obviously set up the huge lead you finished with....

Well done mate. Hope I didn't knick your only handlebar bolt (you should tie your bike down via the lower triple clamp) Reading that I sound like a soft bastard, pulling in when my hanblebar broke.
    See you at Round 2.

That's a beautiful machine you've created Neil. Riding with one hand, now you're just showing off.

Nice peddling again on that green dinosaur Neil. Wets, slicks, intermediates... too many choices! Did well to finish the day without a crushing migraine!

I was wondering why the gap between us was getting smaller, but you were still fair hauling with one handlebar.

Hi Neil, thanks for the mention "stupidly fast"
You've got that 400 flying mate, I thought it was a hot 600. I was very impressed.
Sorry for holding you up through the infield, I am still a bit rusty in the corners and the suspension wasn't working well. The 2nd race was even worse for me as the bike started tying its self up in knots.
Good luck for the rest of the series.

LOL, Yup as you have found out.... Not the best for them.

I noticed it was a fault that probably was a result of a little "Splash" last year at Manfeild.
Neil now knows to get his handle bar bolts NDT'd after a bin
Okay, we will just replace them... Although Troggie loves to do little jobs like that for food

As for the last Bolt... Well, yeah, but lucky Dan had a ZXR250 across the shed

Will be good... Pete Sales can contest that Neil has learnt how to use his limbs
