    WOOP What a ride !

I got home freezing cold (cause FARK did it rain on me or what) but with ma grin on, went up the motorway but came back via Pukakohe, Tuakau then all of 22, the tops of that road are exposed to some amazing views and awesome cross winds IMO the Waikato end of 22 is much better than the Auckland end, in both road quality and taking into account the fun factor.

Today I found out about target fixation downhill right hander, big muddy berm on the outside, going bit fast, knew I should look AROUND the corner but all I could see was the mud, and that's where I ended up, luckily I guess I wasn't going far TOO fast as by the time I was off the road I was able to stop in the mud and didn't come to rest in the bank behind the mud WIN!

Would be a good loop through to the Rangiriri Pub for a stop ?

    haha been there done that...

Wow, look at that big pile of gravel on the side of the road. That's a big pile of gravel, I don't think I'd like to hit that. The gravel is bigger than I thought and getting bigger...yip it's deep. Luckily I rode into it otherwise I would have ended in this ditch.

It wasn't that bad though. Just a pile from a recent grade and seal but it did stop me riding into the ditch. Ah the good old days.

I was thinking of going for a ride but god the weather was all over the place. Started to think of getting the gear out and it'd piss down.

Unlike you adventure freaks, most roadies don't like starting out when it's bucketing down. By bucketing I mean so much water it's gushing down drains like torrents (sp?) for you townies. Non of that drizzle crap you townies call rain

Showers and cold southwesterlies, both easing.
    Sunday 5
Any remaining showers clearing. Southwesterlies tending northwest with some late rain possible.

Another dodgey weekend. When we finally get a good one I expect everyone to make them selves available for a good ride!!!

metvuw.com has a more optimistic lookout for sunday - looking pretty good by all accounts. I know I for one am busting to get some tarmac under the wheels again !!! I'll chuck out a couple of ideas and we can discuss in more depth wednesday at the pub.

1 - light house ride to south head, Manakau
2 - kawhiia- boat harbour rd- marakopa- Waitomo & any number of options home.

other routes & destinations will be gladly considered as well .....ideas????

300-350 Kms if the weather is good would help sooth the spirit after 6 weekends of CRAP !!
If you don't know where you are going , any road will get you there ............

they have been fully sealing it from Taihape through to Hastings/Napier just unsure how much is left to be completed, I'm getting varying reports on where they are at so best go have a look for myself

    Saturday 4
Showers retreating to the coast and fine spells developing.Strong southwesterlies easing.
    Sunday 5
    Cloudy periods. Northwesterlies developing

Maybe it could be good for a ride Sunday - Will discuss at Tavern tonight and if all go look out for a calendar entry going in tomorrow. There will be a bit of Sun on Sunday

    Oh joy!!!

Oh by the way for you Triumph riders out there you really need to get in quick and have a look at the green 2001 bonnivelle in HD cycles (opposite Road & Sport) Man the bling on it is super impressive. if I had $11k I would be looking seriously at it. Dont know how long it will be there for???
