Maraehako Retreat is fantastic - we stayed there last March on the Boyds Ride. Its not far south of Waihau Bay. Mind the steep ride down the hill to the retreat tho its a bit hairy!

I ended up staying in Mt Maunganui after leaving my wallet there at the BP then riding 100kms before realising and going back to retreive it! . Then I rode to just north of Taupo, Across to Taumarunui, through Forgotten Highway to Stratford and stayed at Onaere Bay ( between Waitata and Urenui ) for a couple of nights while I rested my weary ass.

Doh, I won't be coming to the pub meets anymore (well I guess I missed a fair few anyway) as I am now in charge of the after work kid pick up run. And I don't fancy wrangling a 5 year old and a 9 month old and a beer

A shame, since that happens to be one of the Masters-level challenges.

So... anything on this weekend? Looks like good weather. I am getting a new tyre on Staurday am, so might be looking for an excuse to scrub it in - I may have to take a pootle over to rags, or somewhere like that...
