I wouldn't mind taking this route later in the spring or in the summer

    http://maps.google.co.nz/maps?f=d&so...8,2.897644&z=9

    Key notes:

    -5km of gravel Rd
-mostly technical roads with ALOT of corners
    -some Spectacular views
-petrol is rare on the route.. full when starting and a petrol station at the halfway point
    - i'd rate it over the coro loop but then i'm just a freak
    - in winter time there is alot of grit on these routes

    That being said, suggest one

that looks intense...i'd be keen for that in summer...need to find some new surfing spots and using the motorbike to scout doesn't seem like a bad idea...speaking of which i'm heading down to honda to find out how mine is doing
You can ride a motorcycle any time of the month

If this is the one we did that day, I can vouch for it. Pretty much all corners, none of this straight bull shit and being some remote adds a bit more spice to it. The gravel is fine and I cruised it at 60km/h easy.

If it's not the one I'm thinking of...forget what I said.

As for suggesting a route...I don't know back roads so I'm pretty useless.

Nice route Have been through on 4 Wheels but not two.
Hamilton Ulysses is heading for Mokau for white fritters on Sunday 20 September. Will probably come back up the coast.

Yeah... you have to keep your focus or not ride hard.. alot of the corners are not signposted for recommended speed... But i still love it

This is a great road , did it two summers ago two up on the trusty VTR. Would be a starter again. The side trip to Waikawau beach worth a visit as well BUT dont try and ride through the tunnel at the end that goes to the beach ......nearly a bad move on my part

well worth popping down to the end of the road to go thru the tunnel, no room to turn the bike around at the other end though.

If we do stop there - no skinny dipping (ok carver)
Lifes Just one big ride - buckle up or hang on
