having recently been down south isld ( again ) I discovered the " Motueka Valley Highway " that is one piece of AWESOME road I'll be going back to try, there are lots of long flowing roads down there that grab you & tell you to " ride me again " Takaka Hill I didnt like ( pot holes & rough surface ) but would be great on a 600cc or motard could,nt really see what all the fuss was about with this road to be honest & like I say Mot Valley Highway was by far more exciting
I Used to jog but the ice cubes kept falling out of my glass

OMG, just performed a bafflectomy on the Firestom this afternoon... it's like going from TV speakers to a 5.1 home theater system with a subwoofer, and THAT OVERRUN!!!

I seem to have lost the thrill of endurance riding & prefer to just ride, even if it is all day I make time to do the C1KC as I enjoy it & it always makes for a great day ride the cock up with last years Southern cross & the uncertainty of future Grand challenges & the crap floating about regarding the Rustys has thrown me I think but the Sth isld has me hooked, Long Live SH6

Yeah that Valley road is good shit. I personally like SH6 around the lakes down the bottom end. Some tightish shit, but nice and flowing in general and when you get a split second to glance at the scenery out the corner of your eye, it's pretty special. I suppose that's why all the high-end car manufacturers use that section for ads. And it's well maintained.

Also, there's a section of road from Invergiggles and Alexandra that's cool. Only done that in a Mustang though, but the ridges are particularly fun.

Totally agree. And to think, most Kiwi's have no idea what it's like down there. Crazy stuff.

Biggest turn out at the Clubrooms for a long long time 20+ people and good to see Carver alive and well. Even ran out of space and some of us move to another table ( the people on it didnt take the hint and shift tho). Good to see Nev making another appearance and great to share a drink or 2 with so many good people.

    Cheers all

Done Doubtful sound helicopter and boat - Absolutely brilliant - would rate the power station/sounds trip far better than Milford (unless I was taking a bike through to Milford, which I havent done, only done it by car 2-3 times)

I went to do the power station tour but there were so many coaches etc it was unreal !!! the road into Milford sound was great on the bike not many people on the road, I was expecting more found some cool roads east of Mangapouri to play with only problem was they where resealing them so next year they should be in awesome condition to have a thrash on
