I'm currently installing a quickshifter, out of action till I fumble my way through the install process. Always keen for a ride when I'm free.

I'm heading to Waitomo on Saturday for lunch with a friend (from Tamahere) - if anyone wants to join me for the ride there and/or back, send me a PM. Departing about 11.30 to allow plenty of time to get lost on my way and make 1pm lunch at Huhu. Likely heading back around 3 or 330.

Planned power cut at home this Monday (I do computer work at home), so options are :

    1. get my generator out and carry on working

    2. replace the leaking radiator in my tractor

    3. go for a six hour bike ride (Whangarei & back, perhaps Coromandel Loop)

    Suggestions from the audience ?

3+ On the way home, stop off at the shops for some radiator leak-stopper gunk and set aside some Photoshop time to prepare one of these for Tuesday morning:

Save generator fuel for a real emergency.
Tractor radiator can be filled up for next time you want to use it.
You can never catch up on missed opportunities where riding is involved.
Go for the ride and fill your pleasure tank. Tell us about the ride when you get back.

Down Otorohanga way in the boondocks ice/grit signs, random small and large patches of what should be called pea gravel. Keep a sharp eye out esp for small patches on corners.

Tar bleed south of Ngaruawhia. You can see it peeling off tyres in front of you.

Bike did a random slalom on a very straight bit of heavy tar bleed, was unexpected as I was just cruising. Entertaining to say the least. Grabbing the gas lead to more excitement. Brought smiles to the car driver behind.

Ended up at The World Famous Viands bakery.
Sitting outside eating. There was a accident on the road I had just travelled. 3 cars WTF that's a nice bit of road.
One of the other punters was a volunteer fire fighter. Talked about a Harley being taken out in Hamilton on Saturday by a car.

It was a beaut day for a ride and a feed awesome

Heading out to Kawhia a few weeks ago it was a super hot day, tar was bleeding and melting like crazy. Found out rather quickly how dangerous that is, front tyre lost grip/slipped on the melted tar mid-corner.

Took it easier after that, trying to dodge all the shiny bits of tar.
