It was a good ride. Did anyone notice the guy on the blue bike coming home? Sneakers, trackpants and a nylon windbreaker. Hope the young lady with the 250 Kwaka got the lights sorted.

If you don't know where you are going , any road will get you there ............
Marie and I went off to huntly the same way as you folk (after practising some hill starts at the kingsgate carpark). Went to her parents house and got her dad out on his bike and did a small loop behind the power station before riding back to Hamilton. She has picked up riding nicely. I think she will come on the next ride.
Haven't had a chance to really test my new bike. All the riding has been done at 70-90kph so far. Couldn't walk after getting home.
Yeah - I passed him at some point. Then saw him again on Ohaupo Road just as I reached home. He had gone right at Whatawhata onto Kakaramea Rd as I did but he must have cut up Koromatua Road whereas I went to Tuhikaramea Rd. I wondered how much protection the track pants had underneath...Course he probably has steel skin.
Only blight on my day was copping a sting on the chin on the way home. Ran into some insect "thwack!" followed by a stab in the chin and the usual formic acid type stinging...lucky the neck roll was there to stop the little bugger doing a full job of it...

It's always spectacular when that happens!
Years ago, in the days of half face helmets, (fullface weren't invented in the olden days) I had a wasp get stuck above my eyebrow between my forehead and the helmet. I think I still hold the world record for "fasteststopandremovalofhelmet".

Stings don't hurt ..........
"then there was the mad wasp who hitched a ride between my neck and helmet strap - mind you it only stung for a little while, then I didn't notice it any more because of my sore ribs ...... from smacking into the back of a car."![]()
