At the pub meeting last week we discussed a Christmas Bar-b-que. Details are as follows:
Place: Our place 75 Lewis Street Glenview Hamilton.
Date: Sunday 11 December 2011
Time: Five pm. I understand that Murray is contemplating a ride on Sunday afternoon timed to arrive at our place at 5 pm. For that reason I have left it for him to put this up as a calendar event. To RSVP you must register your intended attendance. Rather than have riders trying to carry salads etc it's intended to levy a charge of $10.00 per person to cover the cost of meat and booze. Cheers Jim![]()
4 Wheels move the body. 2 Wheels move the soul
Its now in the calendar
YOU MUST REGISTER for catering purposes - If you are currently without a bike (Glenn, Shona etc) please still come along and lets have a good evening/night
If your registering for 2 people (eg - Murray is for Murray and Trina) please advise in this thread how many coming!!!
Suggestions for 180-200km ride on the day welcome
Thank you Jim for your kind offer!!!
Those looking at a ride this Sunday - Good luck and dont forget your gumboots
Sunday 4 Rain developing. Humid northeasterlies, freshening.

Life would be so much easier if you addressed questions with a simple answer.
3 now without bikes !!- was rear ended by a ##ckwit who said he sneezed at a roundabout n didn't see me. Was stopped at the time. Both pipes poked but most of impact was on rear wheel. Gear box appeared clunky on way to boyds. Getting reaer wheel , axle etc checked. Got his details but did look like the type that could stretch the truth - we'll see .....BUGGER !!
If you don't know where you are going , any road will get you there ............
Darn for sure ... My bike is off the road while I replace the gear cluster & output shaft.
Seems the front sprocket is in-fact harder than the shaft, and the spline is nearly worn away completely. Good thing is I have replacement parts off eBay.
So in terms of Jims BBQ .. Sue & Me are in, but not riding.
F@*K this "not seeing you" bullshit!!!!I'm getting sick of tired of that crap. When do dickheads think it's a legitimate excuse for nearly killing someone?
"oh, you didn't see me? That's OK then if you didn't see me. It is pretty tough driving with your eyes open. The main thing is are you alright?"
How come you rarely hear that excuse (if any) when a truck steamrolls a car? Most of the time it's the car that drives under the truck.
Swear to god, if I ever get told that excuse to me, the driver better run...'cause me helmet is going up their ass!
At least wearing high vis will fix the problem
I hope you're getting the same pipes again. Make 'em black too.
A few years back I got rear ended on Victoria street (North End lights outside then R&R Sport)
I was on my ZZR600 and stopped in a line of cars waiting for green light. Got rear ended so hard the bike flew off from underneath me and hit a car head on comming the other way. Luck would have it, it was a brand spanking new Merc.I did a sommersault and landed on the bonnet of the guy who rear ended me, rolled off and landed on my feet. I went up to him and he locked him self in his car. All I remember was getting put in a lock by the passers by as all of them thought I was going to deck the guy. Even when cops turned up he refused to get out of his car out of fear. His excuse was that he was eating a pie and didn't see me. He was up for $8K for my written off bike and another $30k for the Merc that was now severly damaged. He didn't even have insurance. This was the first time I nearly commited murder.
I would have happily shoved his pie up his arse but he already finished it before cops turned up. And it was mince and cheese one too![]()
I've spent my money on bikes, booze and babes. The rest I've wasted....
I said it before and I say it again, if you took NZ population to EU, States or Canada where there is snow in winter, I would bet half of us wouldn't survive a month. Our driving education and driving habbits are shocking. People complain and ask why Germany has open speed limit on their Autobahns. Three reasons really
1) Their roading systems are much better and more developed then here
2) Their driver education is light years ahead of ours
3) Most importantly the drivers there are FAR MORE COUTEROUS(sp?) then here in NZ.
I've spent my money on bikes, booze and babes. The rest I've wasted....
My first accident on a bike was a car done a U-turn in front of me, wrote bike off , minor injuries for me and car took off (I hunted him down and caught him a couple weeks later and he was a 'respected publican, mason and rotary member' and I was a teenage biker so he was never charged for the offence.
Few years ago I was going round a roundabout in Palmerston North, had headlight on, sidelights on, right indicator going and an Asian chic in a 4X4 came through the give way and Tboned me..... she also said "Sorry I didnt see you" she gave me a ride the 50km home tho ... then offered me a job driving a brand new Mack that they had arriving in a couple days LMAO (I declined)
Yeh Kiwi drivers are dumbasses, just got our car back from panelshop after a month following a young fella rearending us ...... the reason... "I didnt see you" we were stationary, brake lights on, indicator going and a white car ........ LMAO hes been charged careless injury.
I drive a truck/trailer unit and often in a B-Train and cars continuously try to "beat me" at ends of merges and they gradually learning that more and more truckies are not pulling out of the way, ask the dumbass Indian lady that I went over her car with 39 tonne of rig, she said "I had a right to underpass you" DOH ..... Told her maybe in India you do but not here lady and told her to always remember .... In a truck I DONT swerve for motorists, I go over top LOL
When I drive I treat every other motorist as an idiot thats gonna do something stupid (and many dont dissapoint me) and Something I have always remembered when I was taught to drive by a traffic officer/drivig instructor (Don Williams) in 1969, he often said to me "always remember when driving..... MAKE SAFE DRIVING A HABIT"
I was talking to a highway officer one night when we were both fueling up and I commented about a dumbass pass by a car that evening and said to the cop "Im more and more convinced motorists cant think beyond their windscreens" and the cop said he doesnt think they can even think that far LMAO
One of the solutions for us bikers ..... wear ominous black leathers and ride a LOUD cruiser .... they tend to make way for yah then LMAO I had a motorist pass while oncoming ad I swung round and chased him, got up to around 160km/h trying to catch him and he was going for it .... sheesh I was only gonna knock his block off .... nothing major hehehhehe
They pushed for all bikers to be in fluro ....... I opposed it in my submission on the grounds the NZ public will become 'accustomed to them and then like the road signage not actually see them, this will make road workers also unsafer as they wont be noticed in fluro either ...... sheesh they put out 100,000 road cones and motorists dont seem to see them either lmao
Get Vengence on your kids !!! Live long enough to be grandparents![]()
