Nice wee pootle on Sunday - looked a bit yucky at 9.30 but rain held off and roads were dry. Nice to see some new faces (and some of the older crew) in our first ride for a wee while. First time ride with us for Ron, Don and Nev (hope your bikes OK and it was just an oil overfill?) and 14 bikes in total. Cruisey roads and not to much twisty stuff on this ride but pretty hard to find any going to Thames. Excellent cafe, excellent food, excellent people - thanks Shona and leader of the pack Milan for an enjoyable ride! Where to and when Next???

Again, not a problem for me as I am a tax paying sucker as I am too tired and too old to "fight the system" - but hey, at least there will be more parks now at Christmas time at Te Awa

mmm yes, I was reading this this mourning. I do like the line "it's about road safety". Well checking rego actually has nothing to do with road safety per se. Yes it's meant to "fund" safer roads in a way but not paying doesn't directly make the roads unsafe. So that argument is crap straight off. WOF is kind of another matter BUT as everyone knows having a WOF doesn't mean your vehicle is safe.

If they really were doing it for road safety they would be checking car condition first, i.e. tyres. If they look dodgy then they check WOF. No WOF = ticket. But this is why only the cops can ticket for unsafe motor vehicles, because only a trained person knows what is unsafe.

I do think tickets should be handed out for not having the minimum depth of tread on tyres especially during these winter months. Everything else is money gathering - pure and simple.

Bike ok, just from my description over the phone they think it could be oil is most probably coming from air filter over flow but they will check it out for me ..

    Ride sunday

Had a coffee with Nigel (sorrelboy) yesterday and although today doesnt look to hot Sunday should be good for a wee pootle.

    Tomorrow
    Saturday 16
Fine, with frosts in sheltered places. Southerlies dying out.
    Sunday 17
    Increasing high cloud. Light winds.

Thought lunch might be in order so plan is to leave Ham at 10.30 from Kingsgate Hotel Hamilton head up backroad to Huntly, do Heatherington road to SH22 south from there to Waingaro and through to Raglan for lunch in the beer garden of the big white hotel on the main street then back to Hams - Not a huge ride but a fun one.

See ya Sunday if your keen.

    Calendar up

Got the 250 back finally. So now the 400 is in getting work done

Will see if Marie wants to head out. She hasn't ridden for months though so might not be the best idea to send her on SH22!

Probably the best part of SH22 is south from Heatheringto road. I would say Heatheringto road may be the bigger challenge and you know we will always look after her. Good to see you got the bikes up and going again!

Some reason the Calendar is not responding as it should and Trina's having trouble registering and I tried to edit and it bounced back????
