You could probably run an iphone on the new network - my understanding is that it's GSM and uses SIM cards....
However, Vodafone have the exclusive rights to the official iphone, and Telecom wouldn't support it.

Eh? faster? The CDMA technology was always faster than GSM. A while back they were marketing that as a benefit.. Now they swap to GSM and advertise its FASTER still?? Telecom are in negotiations with Apple so expect it to be available soon. Vodafone don't have an exclusive agreement.
I'm with Vodafone and will wait for the price wars before making any decisions to move.
