    Well I've always said if the Nats get something right I'd give them a greenie.


    This has been long over due and a step in the right direction.

    I agree with that,maybe if we could knock the working for families bullshit off then it would actually cost nothing.

    There must be some seriously undersized maternity units out there. The good people at Palmerston North hospital let my fiancee stay for as long as she liked for both our kids. She stayed for three nights both times and they were in no hurry to 'evict' us. Both times the bed beside hers was empty the whole time.

    The reality is we have about 4 million people in NZ and too many are eependent on state handouts. There are too few supporting too many, fact.

    I had my daughter in Horowhenua Maternity unit and stayed for 5 days.....Was alittle empty but i was a new mum and was trying to get my head round it all, I think Mums should be able to leave when they are good and ready......Like the ad says.....Kids don't come with a manual
