Yep just got from MightyApe. My specs should easily be able to handle the game:

AMD Phenom II X2 550 BE
    2GB DDR3 RAM
    ATI HD5750 1GB

Should be able to kill it with those specs.

Checkup on google for a patch... I've since uninstalled the game and it's been that long that I can't remember if there was a patch out for it or not. Might pay to also double check if you're running DX9/10 etc

No patches. Will update graphics and sound drivers when my net gets uncapped.

Updated drivers have changed nothing. Absolutely no forums dedicated to this game which is annoying.

Weird. I can't really help - it installed fine for me. Maybe run in it compatibility mode?

Doesn't help. I will try and install on sidewinders laptop if he lets me. Shoulda just got the ps3 version!

Really there should be a dedicated executable for the game and it should create logs for these sort of situations!

I got my copy from Rapidshare, had it for a while now, never bothered playing the game, havn't used my gamespy ID since early days of CS, the game logged in, so seems to be working.

So whens our first race, or was this so last year.
Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.

Problem solved!!! Got CoD World at War of sidewinder and that didn't work either. Searching around with the error message came up with soundcard issues. Turns out the modem line playback that appears is the problem and just needed to delete that. Fixed CoD and SBK09!
