Well said Billy, I'm with you on this one...

According to the mnz Annual report 68 clubs held 751 events last year - Is it really expected of the VOLUNTEER board members of mnz to visit all these events to "educate" the members. What would the travel and accommodation costs amount to???? How much of their private lives are they expected to be dedicated to mnz????

The mnz web site is a good resource for ALL mnz members to find out about motorcycle competition in NZ and there are other sites like KB etc...

The real solution is for people to ...... oh never mind

Also making the voting easier (ie online) would make a difference as well.
although the current voting system sucks because of the apathy of the majority,

can i ask what is so hard about ticking a box and posting a letter,

It's not as bad as it sounds (actually it sounds like a "thud").
Once upon a time I worked in a circus as a tent hand/ring waiter/cook/driver and part of the elephant act was getting the tent hands to lie on the ground and have the elephant step over them.
There was always a rush to get the middle position as the guys on the end sometimes got a nudge as the elephant "felt" the beginning and end of the line with her foot. But if she did a crap it didn't matter where you were in the line you copped some !!! ( Oh yeah, the crowd loved it too ) Luckily elephant crap is like horse crap, nice round "buns" not like the evil green squirt from cows.

Umm I guess this is about as far of topic as you can get, but hey this is KiwiBiker

To be perfectly honest, and I know I can be a bit thick sometimes but I didnt vote last time because it was all too confusing. Not sure if this years was easier to work out or after reading a heap of threads on here regarding what was what I cottoned on, or maybe I'm just getting smarter as I get older. What the answer is I think is if you keep your head in the sand all you see is sand!
Wouldn't be racing if it wasn't for:MotoMart, Pirelli, EBC Brakes, Ripecoffee.co.nz, Slotmedia.co.nz, Totalbodyshop.co.nz and Wurth

Shit yer Billy , i hear you about the easyness to get a comp licence . I had to do D , C , B , and then ACU pissed off and i never got to A lol.
It was structured for a very good reason and i believe it made the racing closer as a result.
As for the visit to the track , well i still would like to see an actuall stand / tent to go and see the poeple that make our sports rules etc , just as we all like to meet K.B. members to put a name to a face. I bet most people on K.B. have never met Jim T and therefore still have the "invisible " image of the man.
Yes i hope he does well in the role but fuck hes got his work cut out for a start and then as the job progresses then the std motorcycle , "ahh whatever " will make it even worse / harder.
MNZ still have to make thier faces familiar with the paying members in my opinion (which is fuck all i know) I want this sport to grow , i retired to help make that happen and i believe it can with the correct help / attitude from members and MNZ.

    Paul.

    Good morning All,

Sorry it has taken a couple of days to POST, but I travelled to Wellington by car and the weather hasn't been that great.

I would like to thank everyone who Supported me in this election and those who have made contact with Congratulations messages.

The Voter turn out was not great but it was 50% Greater than last year, even with the problems.

There will be some who will not like the result, but we live in a democracy and I am sure those ELECTED are FULLY COMMITTED to moving OUR SPORT FORWARD.

As President I will be encouraging the BOARD to become as VISIBLE as possible.

    Adding to the list .....

Hi All also add to the list Murray Perry one of the most experienced and professional stewards and people I have had the pleasure to be advised, guided and mentored by. Safety Commisioner and member of the Appeals Board, experience we as racers and administrators fo clubs and our sport, can ill afford to have undermined and eroded from our sport.

Dont get me started on what WE are all losing out on as far as Trevor Heaphy and Warren New are concerned.

I dont balme those guys just in the strict sense that theyve done a thankless job for so many years anyway, probably sick of it, as was Paul Stewart.
Jim will be able to assemble some good people around him.
