Without giving anything away - STK100 was madness at times. More action than a season of WSBK. SSP300 was edge of the seat stuff.

I thought WSB was heading more towards Prod 1000 but maybe that is not the case ?

If it weren't for flashbacks...I'd have no memory at all..
It could well be. That would make sense of the dropping of the STK1000 class. The current WSBK class needs something done as it drags in crowds that sometimes look outnumbered by the competitors.

They need to drop the SBK class rather than the Super Stock class. Super stock is more interesting and the bikes are closer to what you and I ride. Having two more or less prototype classes (SBK and MotoGP) splits the audience and the money.
Cheers
Or maybe merge SBK and STK. A fair degree of modification is fine IMHO but the difference between an "off the shelf" bike and a WSBK is insane! Even if you go back to the late 90's and early 2000's. I think that BSB has that balance pretty well sorted but it has been a while since I had a squizz at their Sup-regs
What is this madness? "We dropped one class so we will chuck in a sprint race with the usual suspects..."

Meanwhile - 8 AM races for WSBK this round. I will be on the edge of my seat .... or not.

Just saw that too, on WSBK, same release.
Does not say anywhere that it is not for points.
Seems a bit odd to me. I guess they are struggling with ideas to get more audience.
IMO, they need to reduce the spec/cost of competing in order to attract larger entry numbers.
I feel that the size of the field brings in spectators/audience and attracts more talent.

My personal view is that the support classes (usually) offer much better racing than the premier class. The drawback is that if the 'glamour' class id dropped then no TV coverage and only friends and relatives will turn up. Perhaps we can go to BSB format and more bikini girls. As an aside, my wife says the black leather cap outfits make it look like a tranny festival.
