    I knew someone who had a mate with a F5000 car. He said his mate said to him every time he walked past it in the garage he mentally chucked ten grand in folding money onto the seat for care and feeding.... not a cheap thing to run by any measure. cool though.

    steve mcqueen owned bikes still go for about 60% more than equivalent, investors will wank themselves over the paperwork etc. that's how the money go round works.

    From memory, one went for about $US102k a couple of years ago. The odd one is appearing now as dealers who bought them die off and the family wants to cash in...

    The week before whatever won a race or Steve McQueen bought it was worth a lot less.
