Yeah. I thought that might have been him subconsciously acknowledging that his bike is a mancky heap of shite. Still, that single down tube frame must be a rare item. I wonder if the down tube is one side and originally there was another one on the other side?

Yeah - but Naaa .. the other way round - GNs were styled on the look we tried to achieve in the late 60s and 70s .. the Norton on sale is just a very poor example of it .

i was one of those idiots once, remarked to someone in the beer queue at the cold kiwi about an old harley at the rally with a 'chicken coop' for a sidecar who turned out to be the owner.... He took me back to the bike and told me the story, i went home the next day and brought my first old bike and started something in my life.
not everyone's an idiot, it's pretty easy to fob those off if you want to, and many a time there's an interesting story to be learned along the way.

I ride my bike to be alone & that kind of ruins it.
Some clown the other day just before I posted that, only started the conversation in order to immediately switch the conversation to his "full custom" Fireblade that he wasn't riding at the time & then proceeded to comment that "I bet it rides like an old bike too" to which I replied, is there another reason for buying an old bike?
