Just modded the Zee derailleur with an old One Industries Rad Cage.
That should let it handle the 40t cog nicely.


Chain arrived today and once I get the forks back from having the brake mounts faced, it should be rideable...

Odd tyre I thought...
When upright, the rear would lock up easily or wheelspin easily, yet when leaned over a little it hooked up good.
after figuring it out it was actually pretty good fun.

The best tyre ever.
Amazing where you can get to with them.
16psi rear and 18psi front on the TT350.
18psi rear and 20psi front on the DR650.

Shimano 685 11 speed brake/shifters, Wolftooth Tanpan SH11 so I can use an MTB 10 speed clutch mech, One Industries Rad Cage on the Zee mech to clear the cogs.
It's a bit dodgy on the 40t, so I think I'll be using it as a 10 speed 11-35 cassette with a 40t spoke protector.
May even go from the 36t front to a 34t which will let me move the chainline in a couple of mm.
I don't do high speed stuff , so top end isn't so important.

It rides quite well.
Now to test it out on gravel and fine tune the bar/shifter position/height and find my 42mm tyres. They're in the Emporium somewhere

It's going to a good home where it can be around other Gilera's and reminisce about the old days of dyno runs, drag racing, Rainbow, Takaka Hill, MX tracks, Moutere Hills off roading, Maungatapu...

And one day, it'll get the nads thrashed off it again

Got the fork seals done on the FransAlp today.
Apparently that was the blackest, dodgyest oil he'd ever seen come out of a pair of forks
It's his old boss's old bike...

yep..thats one time a HD tube cant help eh! was at a mates place today and we spotted a rivet shank hanging out of his tyre, where do these things come from?

Dead battery time today.
Was very hesitant to start after a few days laid up with the forks seals being done, but the was fine.
Thought it was on it's way out. There's a few bulges in the sides of it...
Pulled the DR650 one and it's the same size, shape and terminals are correct
The old MotoBatt in the DR650 only lasted 4 years and 46,000km and the new one (cant remember the brand) has heaps more CCA.

Having to wait for the tyre to cool down Was getting a bit squirrely.
Trying to stuff a huge Pirelli tube into a little 705 tyre. There were several folds needed

Just finished building my new lightweight tubeless wheels for the Anthem.
New:
WTB Frequency Team i25 rim, DT Swiss Competition double butted spokes, Hope Pro 2 EVO hub, Ashima rotor.

Old:
Stock Giant P-XC2 19mm internal.
1060g




Oh well, at least they'll be wider and lighter without the tube...

The rear however, is 200g lighter than the old one...


The bike should feel totally different to ride though.
The stability of wheels tensioned to 120kgf +/- 5% with 25mm internal rims vs the old 17mm rear and 19mm front and should be sweet
