The real sin is the pod filters. The 30SS carbs don't like those at all. Std airbox with a big K&N is the way to go - but find the airbox....

Interesting. Most of the era welcomed filters and exhaust for a genuine 10% increase in gooooooooooooo

Unlike modern stuff where the air box is a sanctuary only violated by supreme beings and exhaust changes make more noise and potentially less real world power.

Those carbs are nominally 30mm but are actually oval throats with 33mm bore on the engine side. The S has bigger cams on different lobe centers (Very different...) Either run them open or with the stock big airbox for best performance.

Easily worth that I'd say. Seat cover is wrong and tailpiece brain is wavering, I thought American might have had Blue at the back? Should Google it but. .

for that coin someone would be hunting a wire wheeler one would think, and incorrect rear indicators too.

1100's had blue tailpiece & black piece at rear of front guard.
750 had full silver front guard & tailpiece, and blue vinyl rear seat.
All stuff that was easy to spot at 200 plus.

I knew my 750 had silver at the back and single colour seat unlike 11s, just it looked a bit wrong, maybe just seat colour was odd. Heck I was 19 so some years ago.

With engine done I don't think he'll struggle with the price.
