My thoughts... Ummm can i have that lawyers phone number, he must be good.

But "The offender was discharged without conviction after defence counsel argued disqualification would have been disproportionate and cost him his truck-driving job."

A classic example of the injustice system and enforcement failing to impact a credible result. I need my license for work too, one reason i moderate my speeds and frequency of ahem leaning on the limits is because i fully expect to lose licence for such mayhem.
Maybe he'done ACC rider trainign so it was all ok.....

It would be interesting to see the trial transcripts, perhaps there was an error in way evidence collected/presented that the discharge wa a saving of fface for prosecution team....

You'd think the police would be embarrased to release a story like this, not like it was CSI Kalimngrad level tech to investigate....
Have to laugh at 'sitting outside the offenders address'.... wouldnt it have been so much simpler to covertly wait in the pole camera location????? Nah that wouldnt be a better work story now.....
Classic example og govt dept doing things the hard way when there was an easier option.

I wonder if he drives his truck over the limit too.

If he lived in Auckland I'd KB jump to the conclusion he is one of those trucks you see on the Southern Motorway in the outside lane tailgating doing 100 + , but sadly he lives in Wellington so I can't.

Nice to see the Police putting effort in where it counts.....

    LOL!

Fucking NZ Police. Keep banging on this speed strategy, fellas, it's obviously working with our steadily increasing road toll. As ever, mighty fine work boys.

A common as mud ride is most suited for commuting.
    Rotate your jackets and helmets.
Traffic volume activated speed signs would be good.

Had a good lawyer too , how do they justify spending the time and money to target this fella?
The traffic cop now needs to get out and do some real Police work. (or maybe they have him in traffic cos he's fuckin useless for anything else. )
The amalgamation has done nothing for Police, that is for sure.
ps and another thing, how do these safety cameras trigger ?

The original post links to a Police in-house publication. The Police didn't release it, Rastus did.

Cassina, how did the guy's luck run out exactly? He got off. He'll have a lawyers bill and he'll have to slow for that camera in future, hardly the end of the world. Definitely not worth the effort to catch him.

he learned to slow down for the speed camera obvs.

Oh wait, do you think that velocity is dangerous in and of itself?

Might not have been a conviction, but they've probably achieved the safety objective they were after, they no longer have a motorcyclist doing 130 in a 80 zone on a daily basis.

The lawyers bill was obviously worth it for keeping the drivers licence, and really just a fine with no demerits attached.

I wonder if a good lawyer could stretch some sort of reasonable doubt that it was the same person in the previous photos, and therefore the discharge without conviction was a less embarrassing outcome.
